Artist's Comments

Two issues led to this photograph:

First, I find much of photography boring, especially nature photography; it seems very little has been done in the genre, though perhaps this is an area of ignorance for me.

Second, I don't like titles for photographs. Well, not always. At times it can accentuate rawness, as in the case of Robert Frank carving words into photographs. In the case of Laughlin, a verbose caption was needed for his contentment. Their art is theirs. My dialogue is to be carried out elsewhere. And sometimes I want silence.

Beautiful picture, and an even more wonderful comment.

I think the way you do. <3

This reply is enheartening!

There's a lot of unstated feeling in it...I love that. Thank you.

I like your work, by the way. Some of it gives me the sense: "Sumi-e beatnik". Splendid.

They look juicy; I wanna eat them...but that would probably be bad.

I think you're right. As a kid, I was always told "Don't eat the red berries, they're poisonous!"

It must be said, though, that I have no way to prove the claim...

Yet again, I have to say that both your color and your black and white work is stunning. Your color work puts together the brillaince you have in the technical aspect of taking photographs in black and white and the fact that there is beauty in the idea of it being a photograph rather than that of whats in it. This exemplifies that perfectly but on top paints a beautiful colorful and vibrant scene. You have done very well in finding a piece that is naturally beautiful in black and white and put the magical touch of color on top to create a wonderful photo. Another excellent piece my friend! :)
